Tips on Listing a Racket

Got a spare or unused padel racket lying around? Turning it into cash (and giving it a second life) is easier than you think.

On RacketLoop, listing your racket is quick, free and open to all UK-based players. Whether you’ve upgraded or just want to clear some space, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know – from creating a great listing to setting a fair price.

sign into racketloop

To get started, you’ll need to create a RacketLoop account. It only takes a minute, just fill in the required info so we can set up your profile. This helps buyers know who they’re dealing with and gives your listings that extra bit of trust.

Once you’re signed in, hit ‘Start Selling’ and you’ll land on the first page of the listing area, this is where the magic begins.

Here, you’ll be asked to fill in all the key details about your racket: things like the title, description, brand, colour, condition, age, usage level, any scuffs or marks, plus the type, shape and texture of the racket.

It’s important to be as accurate and honest as possible here, the more detail you give, the more confident a buyer will feel. Think of it as giving your racket the best chance to find its perfect new home.

set a price

Once you’ve filled out all the details about your racket, it’s time to set your price, and this is one of the most important steps when it comes to making a sale.

Think carefully about the condition, age, brand, and how much it’s been used. Buyers are often looking for value, so pricing your racket fairly can make all the difference in how quickly it sells.

If your racket’s in great condition, don’t be afraid to reflect that in the price, but if it’s got a few battle scars, you might want to adjust slightly to attract more interest. The goal is to strike a balance between a good deal for the buyer and a fair return for you.

Remember, a well-priced racket with clear, honest info will always stand out.

Once your racket is listed and ready to sell, it’s worth spending a little time thinking about how you’ll handle shipping. A smooth delivery experience builds trust and increases the chances of positive feedback or future sales.

We recommend doing a quick bit of research to find the most reliable and cost-effective courier – buyers love knowing they’re not being overcharged for postage. To make things easier, we’ve created a simple Shipping Best Practice Guide with tips and courier links to help you quote prices and package your racket securely.

Make sure to take clear photos of your packaging before sending, just in case proof is needed later. And most importantly, be courteous in your communication. A polite message goes a long way in making the whole process feel smooth and professional for your buyer.

upload images

Photos can make or break your listing, they’re the first thing potential buyers will see, and often what helps them decide whether to click through or scroll past.

We recommend uploading at least 4 clear, high-quality pictures of your racket from different angles. Make sure the lighting is good and try to avoid cluttered backgrounds – a clean, simple backdrop works best.

If there are any signs of wear, scuffs, or damage, be upfront and include close-up shots. Transparency builds trust, and buyers will appreciate your honesty. Listings with clear and accurate images not only perform better but also help avoid unnecessary back-and-forth questions.

A few minutes spent getting great pictures can really speed up your sale and help your listing stand out from the crowd.

And that’s it! Once you’ve filled out all the listing details and added your photos, just hit ‘Publish Listing’. Your racket will be sent for a quick approval, and once it’s live, it’s ready to be seen (and bought!) by other players. Make sure to keep an eye on your messages in case a potential buyer reaches out with a question or offer.

Before your listing goes live, you’ll be prompted to set up your Stripe account. This is super important as Stripe handles all payments on RacketLoop, so setting it up ensures you get paid smoothly once your item sells. Just follow the instructions when prompted, it only takes a few minutes and saves any delays down the line.
